Commisioning the Team before Departure NEXT SATURDAY

At the 10 a.m. service today the team members were commissioned by the rector, the Reverend Stuart Pike, for the service week at El Hogar, as we prepare for our departure on 13 April.  We realized that with this commissioning that it is actually a co-mission with God.  God blesses us through our partners.  God sends us, empowers us and goes with us.  We are ready!

After the church service the team packed all of the donations generously given by parishioners and other friends of El Hogar.  We each are taking an extra suitcase so that we can take all these donations to the children in Honduras.

Tom and Jane, our team members from St Timothy's in Cincinnati, also report on their recent activities...

"Tomas y Juanita were blessed on their way to their tenth journey to El Hogar at the 9 a.m. service at St. Timothy's on Sunday, 7 April, by Rev. Roger Greene.  Part of the St. Luke's team, the duo were walking sandwich boards to promote "Team El Hogar" for the May 4 Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.  They sold raffle tickets for the Piggest Raffle with all their sales proceeds going to El Hogar. They also promoted sale of tickets to the 28 April youth concert which is to be attended by Directora Claudia Castro of El Hogar.  Performed by youth choirs from a variety of Cincinnati-area congregations, this is the second such concert to raise funds for our favorite Honduran Ministry. A handmade El Hogar quilt and an IPod will be raffled at the concert, with tickets on sale while the Habigs are in Honduras with their favorite Canadian team!"
