Palm Sunday

Less than two weeks before we leave for El Hogar.  On Palm Sunday, 1 April 2012, our service team was commissioned at the 10 am service.  Thanks to Canon Stuart for providing the prayer...

Prayer of Commissioning for El Hogar Missionaries

O God our creator, we thank you for calling us to be your servants.

Help us gladly to respond to your call and obey your will.

We give thanks for your call to our people who will travel to Honduras in your service.

Make them ready for every situation they will face.

Give them hearts and minds which are open to knowing the presence of your son Jesus in the faces of the poor and the orphaned.

Let them faithfully serve you and show forth your love to the world and may their experiences fill them with your peace and hope.  Bless them on their way and bring them safely back to us. In the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Palm Sunday was the last day of our Easter Egg fund raising campaign.  We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported us by buying ALL of the eggs.  Thank you to Marilyn for donating two pictures, both of which were bought.  Muchos gracias a todos!

Palm Sunday was also the last day of the St Luke's Lenten project to Adopt a Child at El Hogar.  Your generosity in 'adopting a child' was simply overwhelming!  Thank you to each and every one of you for your donations!   A special thank you to Alleyne and her team for organizing and running the project.
